Receiver Coil Packaging
Engineering reference on Receiver Coil Packaging for wireless power system design, integration, and deployment.
Receiver coil packaging fits the winding, ferrite, and shield into the vehicle underside with enough clearance for floor irregularities and debris. Packaging defines effective gap, thermal connection to vehicle structure, and how flux interacts with battery tray, frame rails, and motor mounts.
AMR receivers often sit in stamped pockets; AGV receivers may hang lower with skids — impact protection and potting hardness differ.
01Packaging goals
- Protect coil from scrape and stone impact without adding excessive gap.
- Route high-current leads with low loop area to limit EMI.
- Allow service removal within fleet MTTR targets.
- Maintain alignment datum to vehicle navigation frame.
02Chassis interaction
Steel near the receiver concentrates flux and changes L and Rac — design on a vehicle mockup, not an isolated coil. Aluminum battery enclosures eddy-current shield if too close; add standoffs per FEM recommendation.
03Validation
- Vibration test per vehicle profile with coil instrumented.
- Ground clearance sweep on worst-case ramp entries.
- Corrosion test for outdoor AMR belly enclosures.
